Reasons for award

The High Court of Australia has ruled on the extent to which arbitrators must give reasons for an award in complex commercial disputes, restoring the original decision of a decade-long dispute over reinsurance claims. See Westport Insurance Corporation v Gordian Runoff Ltd [2011] HCA 37 (5 October 2011).
