For every 100 people in Macau, there are 206.43 cell phone subscriptions, according to recent statistics from the International Telecommunications Union.
New consumer habits calls for new consumer protection measures. Law n.º 12/88/M, of July 13 (Consumer Protection Law) is not enough, and should be updated. The use of standard clauses is especially dangerous in this kind of contracts, due to consumers’ lack of specific knowledge. We all feel the need to be “always in touch”, but having access to new ways of communication does not necessarily mean having full access to information.
